I am honoured to be able to support the Club, members, staff and visitors in the role of safeguarding officer. This means that I will support the Club and, in particular, any children, young people and adults who may need safeguarding: this is a responsibility we ALL share, but I will happily make myself available for you.
My background is as a police officer in Suffolk, having spent most of my 30 years’ service in the world of safeguarding and then in teaching after my retirement.
There are lots of rules in golf but when it comes to safeguarding it is very simple: when you recognise that you need to do something because someone tells you or you hear or see something which is wrong or makes you feel uncomfortable, please DO report it, however unimportant you think it might be. You should never feel awkward about passing on any information to keep people safe.
My contact details are e-mail sgc.safeguarding01@gmail.com or 07506 444082.
